NYC Subway Redbird Flushing Local / MP01-11RB

In coordination with New York City Subway, we have created 25 different subway trains. All are safety tested, and made of solid wood for sturdy and fun play on tracks or floor.

Redbirds are named for the deep red color they were painted, known as "Gunn Red" in honor of its originator and NYC Transit Authority President at the time, David L. Gunn. The deep red colored paint was chosen to combat Graffiti. The final trip made by a Redbird train was on November 3, 2003 on the Flushing Line. Rebirds now have either been sunk off the coast of Delware, Georgia, New Jerseym South Carolina, and Virgina as artifical reefs to promotion marine life and some still operate in the system repurposed as garbage trains or rider cars for work trains. Safe, sturdy fun - Compatible with all wooden railway toys Officially licensed by the MTA - Measures 4 inches long The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is a public benefit corporation responsible for public transportation in the U.S. state of New York, serving 12 counties in Downstate New York, along with two counties in southwestern Connecticut under contract to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, carrying over 11 million passengers on an average weekday systemwide, and over 850,000 vehicles on its seven toll bridges and two tunnels per weekday.
