Body ruby red finished with clear varnish, steering wheel and open top pearl white, front seats and rear bench ocher brown. Chassis with base plate and radiator grille with Mercedes-Benz star painted chrome silver. Radiator grille in silver, silver type printing “220 S” on the rear and front indicator strips on the fenders. Silver-plated headlights, carmine red taillights. Rims printed with silver Mercedes-Benz star. Side door handles and trim strips silver-plated. Tires with whitewall ring.
Ruby red convertible elegance from the 1950s
With the convertible elegance of the 1950s, the ruby red Mercedes-Benz 220 S drove into the economic miracle. WIKING has revitalized the classic model based on historical shapes and the creation of the legendary model maker Alfred Kedzierski and given it a contemporary finish with new interior design. This means that the aesthetics of post-war automotive history are showcased in great detail in the 1:87 range. The Mercedes-Benz remained an automotive monument – in both model and original form. When production of the 220 convertible ended in 1960, the time of pontoons on German roads slowly came to an end - only a few hundred examples of the 220 S convertible rolled off the production line at Mercedes-Benz. WIKING takes the model from historical forms and designs it with a lot of fine detail into a model-making eye-catcher.
